About 35 tonnes of snow was trucked into central Christchurch for a freestyle snowboarding and skiing event on Saturday.
A 4.5 metre structure has been set up in Oxford Terrace, which was closed between Lichfield and Hereford streets.
Organiser Jaclyn Philpott says a Canadian youth team and elite snowboarders and skiers from Central Otago competed.
Entrants are were vying for $5500 worth of prizes.
