An inmate has died at Auckland Prison at Paremoremo.

The Department of Corrections said the prisoner died at the maximum security prison on Sunday morning.
It said the prisoner was given medical attention but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is refusing to release more information at this stage, although the man's next of kin have been informed.
The Department said it would investigate the death and the case would go before the Coroner.
