Police are still searching for individuals thought to be armed following a carjacking in West Auckland.
A 2008 Mazda Atenza carrying two people was driving along Parker Avenue in New Lynn early yesterday morning, when people approached and stole the car.
Police found the car dumped outside a house near Kelston Boys High School a short time later.
The armed offenders squad was called after reports a firearm was used against the two passengers.
The property was raided, but the offenders were not found.
Police said they were working to identify and apprehend those involved, and establish why they stole the car.
Kelston Boys High School, St Leonards and Kelston Intermediate kept their students inside while the operation was underway.
