Fine weather is forecast for most areas of the country on Christmas Day.
Conditions are settled in a lot of the country, with normal to slightly higher temperatures - but there are exceptions, including Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, weather commentator Richard Green says.
Mr Green said the weather for Boxing Day heats up further - with temperatures creeping up into the late twenties in some places.
And he said there were more anti-cyclones bringing settled weather for the country over the next week or two.
