Two hundred students have been involved in a fight in the Hastings suburb of Flaxmere that has left two police officers in hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The fight, which happened at Flaxmere Park about 3.30pm on Tuesday, involved students from two schools.
Police say one boy was found with a chain. Seven students aged between 13 and 15 have been arrested.
A 14-year-old will appear in Hastings Youth Court on Wednesday charged with assaulting police.
Another six youths will be referred to Youth Aid charged with disorderly behaviour.
