It was a busy week for news but two key events seemed to dominate headlines; the signing of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Waitangi Day.

RNZ's Patrick O'Meara provided an overview of key Trans Pacific Partnership information, including the deal included, what was at stake and what the next steps were.

The TPP protest - how it unfolded

Coverage then included live reporting of the agreement signing and accompanying protests, which blocked the motorway and clogged streets in Auckland.

Joyce defends TPP negotiation methods

TPP merged with Waitangi later in the week, when protesters restricted the Prime Minister's speaking rights at Te Tii Marae. John Key opted not to attend but protests continued in his absence.
