A 17-year-old girl has been arrested after an elderly man was seriously injured during a home invasion in Hastings.
The 77-year-old man was taken to hospital after offenders broke into his home on Heretaunga Street East on 25 June, assaulted him and stole his vehicle.
A teenager handed herself in to the police, and has been charged with aggravated robbery and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She is to appear in the Hastings District Court today.
The police are still trying to find other people involved in the attack.
The victim is in a stable condition in Hawke's Bay Hospital.
