A man was due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Friday charged with the aggravated robbery of four Irish tourists in Northland.

The men were staying in a cabin at the Dargaville Campervan Park on Sunday night.

They told police two masked men with guns confronted them, demanded the keys to their van and drove off in it.

The van contained generators and water-blasters - which the tourists had reportedly been selling - and it was found empty and burned-out near Dargaville on Monday.

The 26-year-old man arrested on the robbery charge in Auckland on Thursday is also charged with receiving stolen goods and arson.
