Man hands himself in over petrol station crash

A man who police say crashed his car into a petrol station in Masterton yesterday, and then fled on foot, has handed himself in.

Police said that after an appeal for information, a 31-year-old Masterton man handed himself in to them this morning.

He has been charged with failing to stop for red and blue flashing lights, dangerous driving and failing to stop and ascertain injury.

The man, who hasn't been named, was due to appear in the Masterton District Court today.
