Socksay Chansy was found in Ōrākei Reserve in Ōkahu Bay, four months after he was last seen in Grafton.

Police said the 36-year-old had recently returned to New Zealand after a long period living overseas, and is believed to have been sleeping rough in central Auckland while estranged from his family.

He was last seen in Grafton on 25 April, and his cause of death is still unexplained.

Police said they were focusing on the Ōrākei and Mission Bay area, and wanted to hear from anyone who had had contact with Mr Chansy or could shed light on his whereabouts over the last few months.
