An inquest into the disappearance of a man in the Marlborough Sounds in 2014 reconvened in Christchurch today.
William Kerry Blair, who was 55, launched his boat in a remote bay in Marlborough Sounds on 8 March 2014.
His boat was found nine days later off the Taranaki Coast.
Mr Blair was not on board and he has not been seen since.
The inquest began in November last year, but was not finished.
It is exploring four possibilities to explain Mr Blair's disappearance - suicide, accident, staged disappearance or foul play.
The police believed Mr Blair had committed suicide, but his family disputed the claim and said the police did not investigate the disappearance thoroughly enough.
The inquest was set down for two weeks.
