Police said two people were taken to Middlemore Hospital after emergency services were called to the address on Willis Road at about 12.25pm.

The woman is in a serious condition, although her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 16-year-old male was also treated for moderate injuries.

The scene has been cordoned off and motorists have been asked to avoid the intersections of Sheehan Avenue, Kelvin and Willis Roads.

Police said the woman and man were known to each other and police were not seeking anyone else over the incident.

A baby was at the address during the incident, but was uninjured and was being cared for by relatives.

A scene examination at an address on Willis Street has begun and will continue tomorrow.
