A man who was involved in a 13-hour standoff with armed police yesterday has appeared in court on previous charges.
A man refused to come out of a house in the suburb of Glenview when the police went to arrest him on serious charges.
In the Hamilton District Court today, Paul Ivan Oliver was charged with breaching a protection order and with assault with intent to injure.
He was remanded in custody, and will reappear in court on Monday for a bail hearing.
Police said further charges will be laid.
