Wellington will hold a civic parade through the city on Tuesday to congratulate the victorious Hurricanes rugby team after their win in the Super Rugby final last night.
The 20-3 win over South Africa's Lions was the first Hurricanes conquest in the 21-year history of the competition.
Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown said the parade will begin at midday from Parliament Buildings and continue on to Civic Square.
She is encouraging people to dress in the Wellington colours - yellow and black - on the day.
Wellington police said there were no rugby-related incidents in the city last night.
