Support for Howard as ICC vice-president

6:32 pm on 22 April 2010

Australia and New Zealand have confirmed their backing for former Australian prime minister John Howard as the International Cricket Council's next vice-president.

The nomination was expected to be passed by the ICC board in Dubai this week, but was deferred until June.

The ICC meeting was dominated by a contingency plan for getting all the teams to a Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean later in April.
