Police in Waikato say concern is mounting for a man missing from his home at Te Aroha.
Hentie Van Zyl , 21, was last seen by his flatmate at their home on the outskirts of the town about 8.30pm on Monday.
Police say Mr Van Zyl's vehicle was found burnt out on Tui Road later that evening and a search is focusing on Mount Te Aroha.
Sergeant Kristine Clarke says the weather has been cool on the mountain in the past few days and police hold concern for his well-being.
Mr Van Zyl is described as white, clean-shaven, of South African descent and of slim build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black track pants and gumboots.
