A 15-year-old kayaker has found a body floating about 100 metres off Christchurch's Sumner Beach.
Police suspect it may be that of a pipeline worker missing since 28 October after a mishap involving an inflatable boat. The body of another worker was recovered shortly after the accident.
Police say the latest body remains unidentified, but appears to be that of a man and is wearing work clothing consistent with that worn by the workers.
The body has been taken to the Christchurch Hospital mortuary, and the case referred to the coroner.
