Farmers markets observe Anzac Day

6:01 am on 25 April 2010

Most Sunday farmers markets will be operating on 25 April, but not until the afternoon out of respect for Anzac Day.

The law prevents most businesses from trading before 1pm.

However, Farmers Markets New Zealand says it has had confirmation from the Department of Labour that the markets are allowed to operate all day.

But chairman Chris Fortune says very few of them are choosing to trade in the morning.
