Dame Patsy Reddy has been sworn in at Parliament as the new Governor-General.
Dame Patsy, New Zealand's 21st Governor-General and the third woman to hold the position, has taken over the five-year role from Sir Jerry Mateparae.
The ceremony began with a haka powhiri on the forecourt of Parliament before formal proceedings took place.
As part of the ceremony, the Governor-General is expected to take the Royal Salute and inspect the guard, and a 21-gun salute is fired from Point Jerningham.
Prime Minister John Key has said Dame Patsy has a strong business background and has made a significant contribution in both the public and private sector.
