A man is in custody after an Armed Offenders Squad callout in the West Coast town of Karamea.
Police were called to the remote rural town at 1.30pm on Monday.
Senior Sergeant Geoff Scott said a 43-year-old man ignored requests to leave a house, and was finally apprehended at 9.30pm.
