Fiji is lifting the remaining bans on foreign journalists who want to enter the country.

The ban has affected two New Zealand journalists, Fairfax's Michael Field and TVNZ's Barbara Dreaver, as well as Australia's veteran Pacific reporter Sean Dorney.

The Department of Information, says any journalist would be free to visit the country and report without restriction once they had been accredited by the department.

The statement says the government has established a robust democracy in Fiji and has no fear of honest criticism or critical reporting of events in the country.
