A large diesel spill along 21 kilometres of State Highway 2 in Waikato caused problems for motorists on Tuesday.
Rain made the situation worse and one van already lost control, and rolled.
The spill stretched from the intersection of State Highway 1 through to Maramarua township.
By midday Transit said the spill had mostly been cleaned up, but asked drivers to take care through as some residue remained.
