Police in Taupo have issued the name of an Irish tourist believed to have drowned in the Waikato River on Wednesday afternoon.
Eoin Doran, 21, was swimming in a hot stream at Spa Park with five friends from Ireland, when he went missing.
Divers later recovered his body about 100 metres away.
Senior Constable Barry Shepherd says embassy officials have notified Mr Doran's family.
