Guy Fawkes night in Wellington last night was the quietest one in more than 20 years, The Fire Service says.

Crews responded to a total 36 calls last night, eight of which were fireworks-related, with none serious.
However, Auckland was much busier for the Fire Service, with 111 calls received every 20 seconds, one spokesperson said.
New Zealanders were expected to be out in force at public fireworks displays on Guy Fawkes night tonight.
