The bodies of three Korean females have been found in a house in Christchurch. Police say the deaths are not suspicious.

Two women and a teenager were discovered in the house on Apsley Drive in the suburb of Avonhead at 10.30am on Wednesday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Virginia le Bas says police believe there has been no foul play and they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

Post-mortems were being conducted on Wednesday and the deaths are to be referred to the coroner.

Ms le Bas says the names of the dead will not be released until family overseas have been contacted.

The large five-bedroom house had just been sold.
