Guided walks on Fox Glacier have resumed after a rainstorm washed away the access road last weekend.
The glacier was cut off and tourism companies had to cancel scheduled tours to the vast ice shelf.
The road has been repaired to a level to allow specialist vehicles through but it still needs work before it can be reopened to all traffic.
