A depositions hearing date has been set for a man accused of killing a young woman in February 2001.
Joseph Reekers, 51, a sickness beneficiary, appeared in the Waitakere District Court on Thursday.
He was arrested in June this year, charged with the rape and murder of Marie Jamieson 23. Her body was found at the back of a factory in the suburb of Ranui on 19 February, 2001.
The last confirmed sighting of Ms Jamieson was at about 9.17pm at a service station on New North Road on Saturday, 10 February.
Detectives said advances in technology helped lead to his arrest.
He has been remanded in custody until 26 - 27 February next year, for a two-day depositions hearing.
