Suspicious fires at scene of fatal stabbing

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at the house where Auckland woman Carly Stewart was killed last month.

A Fire Service spokesperson said crews were called to School Road in Te Atatu shortly before 5am today.

There were multiple fires at the vacant two-storey property when they arrived, the spokesperson said.

The fire was put out and no one was hurt in the incident.

Carly Stewart, 36, died last month after she was attacked at the house. Another 36-year-old woman, who cannot be named, was charged with her murder.
