A search is under way at Takaka in Golden Bay for a freedom camper who has gone missing.

James Rano Dick, known as Hemi, told friends on Wednesday he was going for a walk and has not been seen since.
He is 1.8 metres tall, with long dreadlocks and distinctive neck tattoos.
Search and rescue teams were looking for him on the Takaka river banks, and a kayak team also searched the river.
Further searches around the area he was last seen will continue today.
