Police have suspended a search for two kayakers last seen near Goat Island on the Coromandel Peninsula.

The man and woman left on a tandem kayak, with a single paddle between them, about 6pm yesterday and were last seen offshore around sunset.
Flashing lights were later seen offshore in the direction of the island.
A search by two coastguard crews, a rescue helicopter and police failed to find them.
Police say no one has been been reported overdue but they would like to speak to anyone who may have seen the pair.
They have suspended the search until more information comes to hand and are asking anyone with with information or sightings to contact them.
