The basketballer appeared in the North Shore District Court this morning on three assault charges against two men, including one of assault with intent to injure, after an incident at a Takapuna bar on 30 November.

Media applications to take photographs of him in the dock were rejected.

The 28-year-old was remanded on bail, although the conditions that had prevented him drinking alcohol or entering licensed premises, except for supermarkets, were changed.

He is now allowed to drink alcohol, but not in a public place.

The basketballer is currently on indefinite injury leave from his club and will reappear in court in February.
