Police are planning one more specialist search this weekend for the missing Christchurch woman Emma Campbell, but concede they are probably now looking for a body.

Ms Campbell, 29, was last seen buying petrol from a Shell service station on Riccarton Road at 5.30am on Saturday 1 May.

Her car was spotted an hour and a quarter later off the edge of Dyers Pass Road, near the top of the Port Hills.

Detective Senior Sergeant John Rae says the scenario is grim and it is unlikely that Ms Campbell is alive, however the police still need the public's help to establish what has happened to her.

Her brother David Campbell says the situation is very upsetting but he appreciates the efforts the police have made to try to find his sister.
