Police are looking for the driver of car involved in a fatal hit and run early on Saturday in Ashburton.
A man, in his early 20s, was lying in Albert Street near the corner of Rapley Street about 1am. He died shortly after being taken to hospital.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Ashburton police station.
In a separate incident: another man, 20, died in Gore about 12.15am on Saturday after being hit by a car.
Police say he was at the intersection of Huron and Nelson streets when he was hit by a car driven by a woman, aged 67. She was not injured.
