State Highway 3 in Waikato closed for several hours after a person died in crash.
The crash was in Awakino, in the Waitomo District, this afternoon, police said.
One person died at the scene. Another was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The Serious Crash Unit was at the scene. The road was closed for several hours, but had since reopened.
Yesterday, a person was critically injured after a truck and a car collided on SH3 at Mahoenui, Waikato.
That accident happened just after 2am at Hedley Corner, about five kilometres north of the Awakino Tunnel.
Meanwhile, another person has died in a crash on State Highway 1 in Marlborough.
The crash happened south of Spring Creek about 4.30pm.
