A child aged seven has died after a vehicle rolled on him in Northland.
Police say the accident happened in the Whangaruru area on Saturday evening.
The vehicle reportedly rolled and the child was thrown out. The vehicle then rolled on top of him.
He was pinned underneath for some time and died at the scene.
Police say the incident does not count toward the holiday road toll because it happened on private property.
