A Chinese tourist who has been missing for six days has contacted her family to say she is all right, say police.
Ling Fang Mai, 42, arrived in Auckland on Wednesday as part of a tour group.
That afternoon she visited the Mt Eden summit with the group before checking in to her hotel in Parnell about 8pm.
Ling Fang told her room-mate she was going for a walk but did not return.
She did not arrive for the flight she was due to catch from Auckland on Friday evening.
But family members have now told the police she has called them, and is safe and well.
