The condition of the survivor of a fatal motorbike collision at the weekend remains unchanged.
Three people, Martyn and Kaye Hartley, 35, and Nigel Hannington, 44, were killed in the crash on the Christchurch - Akaroa highway on Saturday.
The head-on collision is believed to have happened after Mr Hartley, 45, overtook a number of cars on a sweeping bend.
Jacqui Hannington, who was a pillion passenger on her husband's bike, was admitted to Christchurch Hospital in a critical condition. Her condition has since improved to serious but stable.
The holiday road toll currently stands at eight.
