Tuesday's papers: search continues for search for five people off Maketu; villa in Queen Charlotte Sound being sold for first time in 130 years; two men found in toy boat filled with beer bottles.

Details of a search for five people off Maketu are on the front page.

Diver Ian Foden who survived a boating accident in the same area last week, says he would not have taken his boat out on Monday afternoon as it was too rough.

A homestead in the Marlborough Sounds is on the market for the first time since it was built in the 1880s.

The villa in Queen Charlotte Sound is being sold after being in the same family for 130 years.

The paper also reports on a man who became lost in bush in the Kelly Range near Otira. He had an emergency locator beacon which he set off before wrapping himself in survival blankets for the night

The Southland Times

Two men were found floating in an inflatable toy filled with beer bottles but no liferafts. The Queenstown harbourmaster says it's part of one of the worst seasonal displays of silly behaviour on water that he's seen for years.

Cricket fans are to be monitored closely at an international one day match in Queenstown on Wednesday, with the sale of alcohol in the grounds to be reviewed on an hourly basis.
