A pedestrian is in a critical condition in Auckland Hospital after being hit by a car in the suburb of Henderson.
Police say she has serious injuries.
The woman, 38, was trapped beneath the car during an incident in Rathgar Road at 4.30am on Wednesday. People nearby helped to free her by lifting the vehicle.
Police say a man, 43, has been charged and will appear in the Waitakere District Court.
