A car crash involving "multiple" vehicles has delayed traffic on Auckland's south-western motorway.

The accident happened just before 7am on the south bound stretch of motorway in Mangere, near the Walmsley Road exit.
The motorway has since been cleared after the crash but the Transport Agency said there were still delays.
At one stage tailbacks were reported to Dominion Road and motorists were being warned of a slow trip to the airport.
