Fire fighters have managed to stop a blaze at a chemical storage facility in south Auckland from engulfing the whole building.

The Fire Service said it broke out in a three-storey building at Koppers Performance Chemicals in Wiri just before 4am.
But they managed to contain the fire to just one corner of the building.
At the height of the blaze there were 19 fire trucks at the scene, including a hazardous materials unit.
The service said they had contained any hazardous substances and would be ventilating the building and monitoring hot spots.
