A Palmerston North fisherman had to be rescued after getting a fishing hook caught in his eye this morning.
A rescue helicopter hoisted the man, in his 20s, from a fishing boat about 15 nautical miles off Porangahau about 8.30am.
He was treated by a St John paramedic before he was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
