Police said the pair, wearing masks and carrying knives and screwdrivers, robbed the Thirsty Liquor store on Great South Road in Papatoetoe about 4.10pm.

They stole alcohol and cigarettes, and left in a stolen Nissan Bluebird travelling towards the suburb of Ōtāhuhu. The car has the licence number DEB613.

Police said no one was harmed in the incident, but the attendant was left feeling shaken.

They asked witnesses to contact Counties Manukau police.
