Police in Porirua are on the hunt for a man who pretended to be ill at a court appearance today, then ran off.

Ricky Tawhai was appearing in the Porirua District Court this morning.
He said he was ill, and an ambulance was called.
While the 27-year-old was being assessed, he ran out of the courthouse.
Police said they would review their handling of the incident.
