A Christchurch primary school says there was an attempted abduction of children on the way to school this morning and parents should be vigilant.
Police said they received a complaint about someone acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Queenspark School but could not comment further at this stage.
The offender is described as a Māori man, aged between 30 and 40, with tattoos on his face resembling green flames with blue borders.
He was driving a white van, with a black stripe along both sides and the letter K in the middle.
