There is no need to do further testing at five Dunedin schools where raised lead levels were found in soil, the Southern DHB says.

Public health teams last week inspected the five primary schools after soil samples taken by GNS Science revealed the elevated levels.
The DHB said the lead posed little risk to children's health, as the raised levels were found in recreational areas, which have a higher risk threshold than areas used for community gardens.
It has recommended schools make sure any affected soil was covered with bark or grass, source clean soil for vegetable gardens and encourage students to wash their hands following outside playtime.
