A 17-year-old man is appearing in the Palmerston North District Court on Friday afternoon, charged with assaulting a man in Palmerston North, fracturing his skull.
The charges relate to an incident in Tweed Street on 8 January, which put a 34 year old man in hospital in an induced coma.
Police say he remains in a serious but stable condition, but is still not able to speak to police and the long term prognosis is still unclear.
