Two injured horse riders were flown to hospital by helicopter on Sunday afternoon after an accident near Wellington.
Helicopter rescue staff say a 47-year-old woman was injured in the Orongorongo River Valley near Wainuiomata after her horse rolled over her, knocking her unconscious.
Two horses behind the woman then collided, throwing a 59-year-old man to the ground and he sustained back injuries.
Both patients received treatment at Wellington Hospital, neither have life threatening injuries.
