Chazz Hall was wounded by police on October 2015, hours after killing his former partner, Victoria Foster.

The authority said Hall fired shots towards police and at one stage drove towards a group of officers.

It said Hall was later spotted again pointing a shotgun towards police, so one officer fired five shots into his car, injuring him.

The authority's chair, Judge Sir David Carruthers, said Hall presented a very real risk of death or serious bodily harm to police and the public, and needed to be urgently stopped.
