Police have released images of a man who attempted to rob an Auckland bank with a sawn-off shotgun yesterday.

The man entered the ASB Bank on Blockhouse Bay Road in west Auckland at 4.10pm yesterday.
Police said he pointed the shotgun at staff and demanded cash, but they activated emergency security screens and the man left empty-handed.
He was wearing a full-face white motorcycle helmet, a blue hooded sweatshirt with large white lettering on it, and dark pants with blue sports shoes.
Police said he may have fled on a motorcycle.
Detective Senior Sergeant Glenn Baldwin said the man's clothing was distinctive and somebody should recognise it.
"This is a horrible crime that has left the bank staff and customers very shaken. Fortunately no one was hurt. Violent crimes such as this are extremely traumatic for anyone involved and this offender needs to be caught."
